Kokskraal Handcrafts originated as a job-creation project in November 2001. Living on a farm the wives of the labourers started developing their skills. This not only improved their human dignity, but gave them a chance to create something beautiful they can be proud of, as well as earning money to be more independent. Kokskraal Handcrafts has been awarded as Global Micro-Entrepreneur 2005 by Citigroup and the United Nations.
