Lowlands Country House and Manor is located on Lowlands Estate, a beautiful sheep, cattle and pecan nut farm on the Fish River, 30 minutes North of Cradock. Bed and Breakfast with dinner on request is offered in our 4 en-suite bedroom Lowlands Country House, while self catering is available in the 4 bedroom Manor and 2 bedroom Dower Cottage.

Spend your days exploring the farm on foot, mountain biking on the dirt roads, relaxing on the lawn under the trees, reading a book on the stoep, bird watching, cooling off in the pool, fishing in the farm dam or listening to the roar of the Fish River flowing over Katkop Weir. We even have official Geocaches placed on the farm and night skies like you have seen nowhere else in your life.

Other activities in the area include canoeing, river rafting and mountain climbing, or hit the road and visit Olive Schreiner House in Cradock, Mountain Zebra National Park, Grassridge Dam or Nieu-Bethesda and Graaff Reinet a little further afield.

Lowlands is all about relaxing in tranquil and comfortable surroundings while enjoying traditional Karoo hospitality. We are child and small pet (only by prior arraignment) friendly and children are welcome to explore and enjoy farm life. Your hosts Dave and Anne Bowker are part of a real Karoo community which still meets for tennis every Saturday afternoon and church on a Sunday in a 100 year old church
