Graaff Reinet hosts SA Instameet

One of South Africa’s oldest towns, Graaff Reinet has been selected as the venue for the first ever National Instameet – a gathering of Instagram photographers and videographers from around the country. Hosted by South African Tourism and @southafrica, the Instameet will take place over the Heritage Day weekend (24-27 September 2015) and over 400 Instagrammers will be travelling from around the country to attend.
Social media platform Instagram is one of the world’s most popular, with over 300 million active users worldwide and has become increasingly popular in South Africa. Instameets have been happening locally all over the country, with users who are passionate about the platform gathering to take photos and video in and around their towns and sharing with other users all over the world.
Graaff Reinet in the Karoo Heartland, has been selected to host the first national gathering of Instagrammers - invited to the Karoo to explore the area.
