Escape to the heart of the Karoo at Rietbron Lodge, where wide-open spaces, endless skies and genuine Karoo hospitality create the perfect place to slow down and reconnect with the simple pleasures of country life.

Situated in the tiny, historic settlement of Rietbron, the lodge offers visitors the opportunity to experience the Karoo away from the crowds and busy tourist routes. Here, the roads are gravel, the horizons stretch forever and the silence is broken only by birdsong, farm life and the occasional passing traveller. Rietbron is surrounded by traditional Karoo sheep and Angora goat country, with the area renowned for its mohair and Karoo lamb. The village itself has retained much of its old-world character and provides a fascinating glimpse into rural Karoo life.

Rietbron Lodge has three cottages:

Olive Cottage – The one for longer stays.

Lavender Cottage – The one with the plunge pool.

The Rietbron Braaikamer
Karoo stone, a three-metre fire, and a table that seats eight. This is where guests end up every evening, whether they meant to or not.

Camping & Canvas at Rietbron Lodge
Sleep under the stars — with the comforts of Karoo hospitality. In addition to our self-catering cottages, Rietbron Lodge offers a small but beautifully equipped Camping & Canvas section designed for nature-lovers and road-trippers seeking the rustic magic of the Great Karoo.

* Campsites (Max 4 guests per caravan camping site.  There are three private campsites (1 Tent and 2 Caravan Sites).
Each site includes access to electricity and clean water, braai/fire pit area and shared ablution block with hot showers and flushing toilets

* For a touch of glamping comfort, the Canvas Dome Tent offers a ready-made setup.
Sleeps 2 guests (double bed or twin options), electricity, water, private fire pit. Use of shared ablution facilities.
